Hello team, does a pcm unit from a 2002 boxster work with the factory harness in a 2000 boxster?:confused:

Yes, once the DME is programmed to the car. You can't just pop it in and expect it to work if that's what you're asking?

I would also be concerned about the 2002 use of CAN Bus, which the 2000 did not have.

Man, I wish I had known that. I had bought a unit awhile back and could not get it to work in my Boxster. I just wanted to use the head unit, not the navigation driver. My bad for not asking an expert!

CAN Bus didn't start until 2003 MY.

Really? My 2001 has CAN Bus................

I am guessing this is something the dealer needs to do/charge for?

You need someone with either a PST II or a PIWIS system to code the car for the PCM to work.

And you will need to ask your dealer to provide the learning codes (passwords).

Pretty sure 2002 has partial can bus....
