Farewell

Although I only had my boxster for 5 months I am selling it.... er... sold it. Turns out I needed a more practical car :(

Luckly I sold it for more than I paid for it. :) and it only took 5 days to sell it. I guess deep down inside I was hoping that it would take a while to sell so I could continue to enjoy it, but to my surprise it sold fast. I do get to enjoy it for a few more days until the new owner picks her up.

Just wanted to thank all the members here on 986forums for the wonderful advice and discussions.

Thanks

Selling a Porsche and not replacing it with another never works :)
I sold my beloved 951 and bought an Audi S4.. despite still having a 911 in the garage the S4 is gone a year later and replaced with a Boxster!

You will be back!

Smithy.......

So.... tell all.... what is the new "practical car"???

PT Crusier?

So where and how did you sell it? Autotrader? Details details... I am on another thread that talks about hwo hard it is to sell a (older) Boxster.

Good for you on getting a good price!

I would argue with you, but in reality I would probably trade my 99 for your 05 :D

Practical car will probably be G35 sedan. (Practical and less expensive)

As for selling it... I think I was just lucky. I bought this car at a really good price (obviously) and sold it on autotrader. Yes technically I sold it for more than I paid, about $2000, but not quite enough to cover the sales tax. So I still ate about $1000. I was hoping I could sell it for more than I paid because I got such a good deal and the car is just beautiful, especailly in person. Plus it had the Sports package (PASM & 6 spd) which made it kind of rare and of coarse the 19" Carrera Classic's really set it off.

And of coarse I plan on getting another boxster in the future. Maybe 2-3 years.

smith12895, sorry to see ya go, but glad to hear it will all work out, and you got a great price on the sale. Too bad about losing her, but you're right, its not always the most practical car. But it sure is a hell of a lot of fun to drive!! :D

smith12895 07-12-2006 07:56 PM

Well..... the boxster is gone.... :(

Driven off into the sunset by it's new owner. Maybe he will join the forum 'cause I told him about it. Someday I will return with another boxster. Maybe when I can afford a third car or when I don't need to have a "practical" car.

Best of luck man... I am just hoping to be able to pay mine off before my wife and I have kids so that I have no reason to sell it!

We will see you again!
