Repair a combination (turn signal) switch?

In the past, I have replaced this switch and it's a fairly easy task (remove airbag, steering wheel, clock spring and pop it off). I am hesitant to spend $200-$300 on eBay to buy a used one just to have it fail again in a year. Suncoast has them at a very good price but since I am in Canada, I am at the mercy of the cross border shipping, taxes, brokerage, and our currently miserable exchange rate.
So, has anyone ever attempted to repair one of these (with success  )?

I can't say I have ever heard of someone repairing one. They are sealed up tight. Can I buy it for you and send it to Canada as a gift and have you reimburse me?

Also, take a look at quaityporscheparts if Woody doesn't have one. They have some low mileage ones for a decent price.

I replaced mine last fall. Bought a new unit from ******************************** and picked it up at the border (I'm :20 from the border). No duties or taxes.

Current price is $220 Canadian for the 3 stalk unit.

Good luck.

I just paid $430. CDN for a power steering hose. Your getting off lucky with a couple of hundred.

That's exactly what happened to me: bought a 3 stalk off eBay, and it lasted a year!

Hats off to Woody by the way, he come thru with a window regulator that's flawless.
