I'm fairly certain the correct term for the passenger seat safety device is the Nagigator

I've had this same sound since I've had the car but its never bothered me much. Does it need to be fixed or is it a relatively harmless issue?

almost a $230 part, I would also like to know if this is a relatively harmless issue.
