That looks incredibly stupid.

Lack of form + lack of function = massive fail. :)

Christian H 04-05-2017 03:07 AM

I really like the colour...

DrCactus 04-05-2017 03:10 AM

Looks like it still can be lowered a little more....

Lol!!! Well stated!

Boxtaboy 04-05-2017 03:33 AM

Bet it corners flat. :D

Frank N 04-05-2017 05:27 AM

That falls into the "just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should do it" class.

paulofto 04-05-2017 05:54 AM

Looks like they completely removed the suspension and left the upper wheel wells sitting on the tires.

PaulE 04-05-2017 06:27 AM

Is it a lowrider on some kind of air or hydraulic suspension? Can it hop, and are the trunk and frunk filled with batteries to make it work? There were a couple of episodes of Fast 'N Loud where the fixed up a wrecked 2005 Ford GT and added some air suspension, I didn't see the point of that either.

That986 04-05-2017 06:36 AM

Ah, here come the old can't corner etc etc arguments on air suspension.........

Modern air suspension is a far different thing to the systems of old, it rivals other suspension systems easily as proven by a few vehicles i know.

Also, this is how it sits when parked. It most assuredly doesn't drive around at this height.

I don't dislike it, but there are a couple UK boxsters on air that are better executed.

There are a couple around. I like the colour of this one but the wheel choice is a bit boring for a show car. But it's not my car so hey ho.

I can say this after driving a car for the last 6 years on air that don't knock it till you've tried it.

You did and I didn't understand what baqgged meant when I saw it. I probably sounded like I was knocking the Ford GT done by Fast 'N Loud. I don't doubt that it can handle great, I'm wondering about the cost vs. benefit, and to me just getting and fixing a bent Ford GT back to original would be hitting it out of the park.

Christian H 04-05-2017 11:02 AM

Apparently this was used as a promotional vehicle for a Car modifying business in the UK called Central England Automotive

particlewave 04-05-2017 11:08 AM

It looks broken...like an elephant sat on it.

Finnegan 04-05-2017 02:58 PM

That poor thing.

I love it!

Its about time we started to see what can/could be done with the 986 platform. I'm expecting an RWB-style from someone next...

I don't necessarily love it, but i don't hate it either. What i do love is that someone put the time/effort/$$$ into a 986. And yes, I'd love to see a RWB-style 986. If I win the lottery I'm doing the RWB/Singer/Magnus Walker thing on the 986/996 platforms.

Exactly!

Boxster_S_girl 04-05-2017 09:33 PM

This is my favorite attitude. It's not my car... I hope that owner enjoyed the process of customizing his car the way I do mine. I don't love what he/she has done, and I don't hate it (and I'm pretty sure he/she didnt factor in my feelings). It's just great seeing a different take on someone's "perfect" 986.

That986 04-05-2017 10:41 PM

Exactly the attitude required. And if i'm honest i'd rather see a lot more of this than stick on overfenders and big wings.

As for air suspension all anybody wants to know is how low it can sit rather than the ride and clearance improvement it can have. It's so much more than people think it is and looking at the airlift badges on the car i wouldn't be surprised if that has the performance kit, i've seen a MK7 Golf lapping Goodwood on that system and if you didn't know you would never have guessed it was on air.

rexcramer 04-06-2017 06:23 PM

I wonder where they put all of the toggle switches? I knew somebody who put 10 grand worth of air on a Suzuki Samurai. He had 8 toggles on his dash to operate everything. It didn't make much sense (to me) on his car either, but he was happy as a clam.
