Triple Blink Turn Signal Relay

I did this mod on my 996 and it worked out great. Has anyone tried it on the 986 yet? After driving my "new" 2001 986 for a couple days I really miss having the trip of blank feature.

I had my shop install the Audi part (electrical is not my strong suit). As far as I can tell, 3 blinks every time.

Quite a while ago I made a thread about this. I'd love to have this feature.

My 2007 Cayman S had that feature.
I liked it a lot......

Cool, thanks CBRacerX for posting this. This should work on our Boxsters the same as 996s. The dash wiring is the same. The removal of the emergency flasher is different only in the fact Boxsters don't have a trim ring around the switch. The wiring and instructions look a tab daunting, but I think once you get in there it will make more sense.

I just purchased a kit off of eBay;

On eBay for $9.09;

And, $9.99;

I don't get it. You posted the same link twice and neither is a 3 blink relay. :)

FYI: all of the Audi relays I found were $75-$100, and you still have to do a lot of wiring.
You could save yourself some trouble and just buy a plug-and-play one touch flasher relay. I've seen them for around $50, but I'm sure they can be found cheaper.

No need to do all that crazy wiring. Just pop in the relay and you're done. ;)

I bought my kit for $51, They had to move 5 wires from the switch to the new switch and it integrates in the emergency flasher harness.

I actually just found some in the $30 range. Some require wiring into the turn signal wire, some are just a relay that replaces the existing relay (a 10 second job). I'm sure an Asian distributor has something under $10, but I've lost interest. :)
I prefer to just hold the lever in the not fully engaged position until I'm satisfied. Our Mazda has the one touch triple blink and half of the time I use it, I end up fully engaging the turn lever anyway, so it's not really very convenient. I also don't think 3 blinks is adequate. I'd prefer 4-6.

If you can let me know where you got it for that price I would appreciate it. I've only found for $72.
