87.7 Fm

Ok....

There a radio station I listen to from time to time on my way to work in the morning (at least in my other vehicles). A few days ago I was in my recently
purchased '03 Boxster and tried to manually tune the radio to 87.7 FM...but the
radio doesnt seem to be able to tune to that freq!??? Is anyone else able to
tune to this low FM frequency?? I this some sort of EU-radio quirk?

Thanks
Georg

I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the FM band in both The U.S. and Europe is limited to 88-108mhz. Japan, however, uses lower frequencies. Is your other vehicle Japanese maybe?

Was your old car a Ford? I honestly believe they have superpowered stereos (in terms of reception only).

I've got an Alpine in my Boxster that goes to 87.7.
It's great for my Ipod's Itrip

Every car I've owned so far (all stock radios) had 87.7 on their FM band:

Cavalier
Blazer
Grand Prix
Saturn
Odyssey
Prizm
RX8

As you can see I've owned a mix of American and Japanese cars, all of which
had 87.7. Thats why I wondered if this was a European thing.
