Anyone encounter this?

The buttons on the climate control area on my car stick. Is this a problem anyone else has had? It could simply be that the previous owner spilled something but i have know idea. It seems worse on some days then others. Havent found a pattern but likely due to temperature/humidity.

My temp "+" button sticks occassionally on very hot days or the first sign of winter. I'm assuming it's from the previous owner (soda or some kind of sugar product). I've tried to clean it but unless I take the whole thing apart (which I don't know how to) I just live with it.
