As far as price goes, I think I got it for a good price. I had originally contacted this dealership before New Year's to make an offer on a Speed Yellow Cayman S they've had for some time. Thought they might be ready to move it, but we couldn't come to an agreeable price. A cpl wks later he contacted me with this one. They didn't want to take the time to bring it back up to snuff, so he said to make him an offer. At the time I was more interested in a Boxster in Dallas, so I wasn't too interested. I tried to come up with a bid that wouldn't be too insulting but I didn't figure they'd accept. He called me back a half hr later and wanted me to bump my bid by $250. I didn't budge, so he took my offer. However, they have a stupid documentation fee of $300 so that got tacked on (I was aware of it beforehand). And since it was out east, it was too dangerous to fly out and drive it back, so spent another $1K on shipping.

As always, "Edd" needs to keep costs down in order to make a profit for the Wheeler Dealers.

Sorry, I forgot that links were being blocked now! Pelican doesn't even sell these though.

Has anyone ever used this manufacturer? Their reviews weren't too good (2/5 rating). Their price is reasonable.

Here is an option:

These guys are pricey, but if you have some talent maybe give it a try.

Mike Brewer nixed it for budgetary reasons. If I was going to keep it, the leather stuff would be tempting.

I have the majority of the trim pieces out. I have a d/a sander on the way (it isn't a project unless you have to buy a new tool) and will prep them for a painter. Think I'm going to go black with all the trim pieces except the door pulls and maybe the console - will go beige with them. I've pulled the end dash vents and will purchase some black ones and sell the veneer ones. Attached are some pics of the current state of the int. Progress? Doesn't look like it but sometimes you have to go backwards to move forward. Haven't figured out what to do with the 3 strips in the lower dash. They are virtually impossible to remove w/o taking the dash completely out. Guess I'm half way there already but don't really want to go that far. Have an idea I want to bounce off the painter. I'm open to ideas if someone has a suggestion on those strips.

If anyone wants the veneer side vents before I put them on ebay, let me know. They should be worth $200 OBO. No issues with them (it just dust on top of the left on in the pic) just a mark on the left one.

When it was new, that interior must have been gorgeous. What a waste. Look forward to seeing the end product. Best of luck.

Before & After

Had to fix the cruise control stalk, so the steering wheel and stalk cluster had to come out.

Decided to paint the strips in the dash. Think they turned out well.

BTW... car is now listed in Classifieds in case you missed it.

I think the glue let go more than he removed it for CF.

Well done sir. It really cleaned up nicely. I did not know the wood option was 8 grand. You can't ever leave that car out in the sun/heat. The wood can't take it.
