Help With Serpentine Belt Replacement!
Dear enthusiast,
I am having difficulty installing a new serpentine belt in my 99 boxster. The problem is I cannot locate the tensioner. I referred to the www.schillingsfamily.com website and the drawings fell short of explaining where the tensioner was located. PLEASE HELP! Thanks in advance. |
Hi,
send me a PM with your adress and I'll send you the procedure... Happy Motoring!... Jim'99 |
You need to remove the carpet section behind the seats. Underneath the carpet is a silver metal panel with about 10 (10mm socket) bolts and a couple of nuts. Remove the panel, and you will be staring at the tensioner. It takes a 24mm or a 15/16" wrench to remove the tension (it is spring loaded, so take care when doing this job).
