Help With Serpentine Belt Replacement!

Dear enthusiast,

I am having difficulty installing a new serpentine belt in my 99 boxster. The problem is I cannot locate the tensioner. I referred to the www.schillingsfamily.com
website and the drawings fell short of explaining where the tensioner was located. PLEASE HELP!

Thanks in advance.

You need to remove the carpet section behind the seats. Underneath the carpet is a silver metal panel with about 10 (10mm socket) bolts and a couple of nuts. Remove the panel, and you will be staring at the tensioner. It takes a 24mm or a 15/16" wrench to remove the tension (it is spring loaded, so take care when doing this job).

Sorry 'bout that. I'll edit that pic to point out the tensioner and make it more clear in the instructions. Thanks for the socket size Doc.
