Angry DTC 1502 - Rough idle, won't accelerate at all.

Today I was working on the turn signal so I removed the battery (-) terminal. After I reconnected the battery terminal, I did the turn the key to on for one minute, turn it to off for 10 seconds then start to reset the DME.

After starting, now it runs rough at idle and when I go to hit the gas it gets to about 1500-2K rpm and won't go any higher. I got a DTC code of 1502 - "Throttle jacking unit spring test. Sort to B+ / above upper limit / rich mixture threshold."

Anybody know where I should start?

TIA!!

Hi,

I don't know where you got the info to cycle the key to start the DME , but I think that's where your trouble lies.

I think it's another case of not allowing the ecu to run a drive cycle and relearn. Disconnect the Battery again and then reconnect it. Start the car and allow it to idle for 5 min., then take it for a drive at 30MPH for 5 min. and then 45 MPH for 5 min. then stop the motor. Wait a moment or two to restart and you should be OK. Hope this helps...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

That came from the AllData work instructions after disconnecting the battery. I'll try the disconnect, reconnect and immediate start and see what happens.

Thanks!

Tried disconnect/reconnect immediate start, but still the same problem. When I read the reasons for the previous reconnection routine, it said DME 7.2 has to reset everything since it has E-Gas. It also says not to touch the gas pedal until you have started the engine.
