Parasitic Battery Drain
 

Has anyone ever had a problem with a parasitic battery drain ? If I go more than 10 days without driving my car I have to charge the battery. Can it be something simple ? Easy to check ?

Yes, a problem that has been reported many times.

Ignition switch, aftermarket items are the usual. Start by checking the drain fuse by fuse to see if that yields and clues. How to and some values to expect here several pages down..

I have a 1998 and this problem is fairly recent. It has never had any electrical options installed. But I'll check the fuses. Thank you.

My Spec Boxster race car (which is mostly stripped) had a residual current of 2mA. If the battery is draining in 10days, I would expect the drain to be several tenths of a amp.

Or it could be a bad battery.
