Here's a nifty project.

That actually looks nice.

The only issue with the G50 and the LS1.. the shift linkage for mid-engine leaves a lot to be desired. They would be better off running a GT3/GT2 or 996TT tranny upside down with the cable shifter. Same bell housing bolt pattern as the G50 so the adapter plate for the LS1 and clutch would be identical.

The G50 they speak of is what the new GT3/GT2 or 996TT's use, but cable shifted.

They have to run the G50 upside down also... nobody sells a reverse hypoid ring and pinion set for the G50 or the new cable shifted boxes.

Interesting observations BR. Do they have to change the final gearing to better match the V8 characteristics?

I've always been a big fan of their Cobra's but I like this new car.

They do not :(

The Ultima's are the same way: LS1/LT1 engines and G50's. I know the english fellow in Morgan Hill CA (south of San Jose) who builds the cars here in the states for Ultima USA customers. The LS1 works much better against the G50 than the older LT1's. The LS1's rpm a little easier making the ratios of the G50 a little more livable on the street.

All the cars running the G50 have to run a pretty tall tire on a 17/18/or 19 inch rim to make the car livable on the freeway. Zero to sixty is PIN YOUR EARS back fast..LOL, but tach'ing 4k RPM at 70MPH is not cool nowadays.

The Factory Five Cobra race series in NASA pro racing is BIG here on the West Coast.
