Instrument Panel Lights Stay Lit

I had dead battery yesterday. Chalked it up to not closing door completely. Recharged battery and took if for a drive to make sure it had nice long charge.

When I turned off key and closed the door the normal delay for the interior lights took place but I noticed the lower sect ion of the instrument panel lights we still lit.

I couldn't wait long enough to see them go out and half expected to have another dead battery this morning. Not the case and the lights were off when I went out to the car.

Is there an extra long delay on these lights?

The lower portion of the instrument display (the digital displays) will stay on for a few minutes and then shut off. This is normal if you don't lock the car. If you lock the car, the display will shut off at that time.

Thanks a lot!
