Can 986 boxster take 95 gasoline?
I have been using 98 gasoline on my boxster.
Would like to switch to 95.. Is it ok? Will there be any damages to my car if I use 95? Thanks! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk |
Sure...but I give my baby only the best and most expensive gas available...its only a few bucks more.
not a DD...it deserves the best of everything :D |
95 what? RON? MON? (R+M)/2?
You should know your fuel metric and include it. ;) You mean 95 RON and yes, it's fine. |
Yes sorry it is RON 95 we have here. I heard boxster can only take RON98 and above?
Is there any difference and if I use RON 95 will there be any knocking? Thanks. In my country, it is a whole lot of price difference. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk |
The knock sensor can compensate for 95 RON. 98 is ideal, but plenty use the lower octane with no real issues.
Where I live, 93 (M+R)/2 isn't even available (98 RON). The nearest station that has it is a 1.5 hour round trip. I've been running 91 (95 RON) for a few months and notice no significant difference. A bit less power, but that may be in my head. |

But what if my knock sensor is spoilt without me knowing? Will my engine be damaged? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk |
