Haha, thanks. I don't want people smoking in my car anyway, so thought this was fun.

Hey boxtaboy,

I noticed the 987 shift knob and wondered about buying one and sewing it into a 986 leather boot. Did you do that? Looks sharp.

Thanks, and actually, I didn't need to sew anything. I bought a 987 shift knob and boot. The knob is held to the boot via a plastic ring under the boot that simply unscrews. I reused this plastic retaining ring to connect the 987 knob with the 986 silver horse shoe boot (that I had separately). I then discarded the 987 boot. If you don't have the 986 boot with silver horse shoe, then you'd need to maybe cut your old boot and mate it to the 987 knob using the plastic retaining ring that comes with the 987 knob.

Where did you get the ejector button?

Go to Amazon.com, and search for "EJECT button cigarette lighter". Or you can buy direct from the seller.

You should wire that eject button to a DIY one touch roof retraction switch.

Then video the look on the passengers face after they press it and the top starts to retract
