On wet roads it is very desirable ....did a test or two

I have it on my 2001S, I wonder how much that option originally cost. After watching a YouTube video about it, I was impressed how well it worked. Here is a link to the video:

I'm not sure how common it is. When I bought my S new in 2003, I had to do some searching to find one with PSM, heated seats and cruise control, my must-have options, and a black top and black interior. In addition to those options it had 18 inch light alloy Carrera wheels, aluminum/leather shift and handbrake, wind deflector, colored crest center caps, CD shelf in center console and seal gray metallic paint. But I only have the standard radio with just speakers in the dash and no OBC (both since added). I couldn't find one with a better stereo and OBC with my must have options.

As to desirability, for me it's nice to know that it's there, but I've never had it come on.

I have the original Traction Control (TC) option on my 97 Spec Boxster. Its fairly rare but wouldn't add much value to the car.

It does work reasonably well on the street but its not very sophisticated so having it enabled actually slows me down on the race track. Thus, I have a dash switch wired to turn it off every time that I go out on the track.

On my window sticker it was a $1,215 option. IMHO, worth every penny. However, at an autocross I was able to still spin the car with it on.

We see a lot of early cars with PSM.
