Yellow 986 S Bought
Finally bought a 986 after several months of considering lots different Boxsters.
On Friday I purchased this 2001 986 S from Joe at 986 Rescue. 62K mile car with a 58K mile engine. Runs great. Looks great. I drove it 350 miles to no where in perfect Midwest fall weather this weekend. I'm still grinning!http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/9861476065149.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1476065197.jpg |
Congrats! Looks great. You're gonna love it.
Congrats on the new ride. Nothing better that a spirited drive on a beautiful fall day. Did the same today.
Where in Illinois are you located? |
Just south of Springfield. Flat farm country, but plenty of good places to exercise a 986!
Very nice, you got the best color.
very nice, yellow porsches are my second favorite (after guards red)
Looks great. Nice pickup. Enjoy

Very mello in yellow,
Congratulations |

. Congratulations! Love the Yellow! |
Congratulations! I love the yellow, you don't see that color very often. After several months of searching, what made you pull the trigger.
Congrats! Be prepared to have lots of people telling you how much they love your car (especially when you stop at a gas station). Also, and not sure if it's the color or the shape and size of the car, but little kids ALWAYS point at me as I drive by!
Except for the wheels (I love your wheels!) your car is a match for mine, right down to the yellow roll bar, seat belts, and center console. |
I tried to "pull the trigger" several times, but it seemed the sellers didn't really want to be sellers for some reason. One guy backed out of a deal that we both agreed to. One guy raised his price after posting on here the amount he wanted. Several, both on this board and CL didn't even respond to my request for information, etc. There are several others that were strange. Then I was contacted by Joe at 986 Rescue(Xcellr8). He was very good to deal with, and put together a deal that fit my needs. I think I found the right deal on the right car!

Sweet ! good to hear the hunt ended with a beautiful trophy . drive it well
Well done,
Enjoy the attention you will get. |
Very nice!
Good deal. The hunt is fun; finding the right one is so much fun!
Love it! Great wheels;) Like I always say, it takes patience to get a good one
Happy to hear you persevered and got the car you wanted. First I've heard about Joe and 986 Rescue, but hope that you enjoy it as much as I do mine.

Joe's on here as Xcellr8.
PM him for contact info. |
Hey! Where's Jake? Thought for sure he'd comment on how great your car looks .... And it does by the way.
Thanks to all, for the nice comments on the car. I, of course, had nothing to do with it. I just stumbled into a very well preserved Boxster. I drove it another 100 plus miles today. Some with the top up, some with it down. Down is definitely better because of how much more you hear the intake. Of course, all of you already know that. I'm driving it harder than I ever thought I would, but it kind of begs for that!

Looks great, love those wheels!
How much did you pay for it?
+1 on the attention speed yellow gets. As I was driving today a jacked up 4x4 cruised by and the female passenger leaned her head out the window for a better look...
Congrats! And you will find plenty of curvy roads here in Illinois, too...
Welcome to the Family! How much did your ride run ya? I'm still pretty surprised at how powerful my 01 S is compared to the everyday car out there... for a 15 year old beast it still holds it's own.
Congrats. Thats a beautiful car.
