Torque/obd2 app users, need help

Anybody out there using the torque obd2 app?. I would like to have a more reliable engine temp readout, so, was hoping the Torque app could provide.

I am using a generic Bluetooth ELM327 adapter, which, says it can read engine coolant temp (I am assuming this is the dash gauge I am trying to replicate), however, it never displays anything but -42, anybody able to help?

bottom right:

I use their free version.
The Engine Coolant temp is the main one I look to.
I display it as a 'Display' which is a digital temp display
I wish it would do oil temp and pressure

You are sure you are connecting to the bluetooth ODBII sender

I use a RioRand OBDII sender and Torque app on my tab with no problems. Although sometimes I have to give the plug-in a wiggle to make the connection.

So does the screen shot represent your display, meaning are you getting some information to register.
I have read in reviews about these cheap Bluetooth ODBII units(I have one) they are hit or miss as far as their connectivity
So if some displays work, maybe try putting the water temp on it's own page. I have noticed that sometime to refresh a display I have switch pages
