Question on convertible top strap for service position
I thought it would be a good idea to check my front and rear drains today. Since my car is garaged they were perfectly clear. But in the back on the driver's side, I saw this strap just lying in the well under the clamshell. A little research and I found it is to hold up the rear window when the top is in the service position. The end of the strap has a Velcro section. Attached to that piece of Velcro was the corresponding piece that had been glued somewhere, but that piece has come unglued. This is a 2003 Boxster with glass rear window. Does anyone know where this piece of Velcro should be re-glued? Thanks in advance.

Sure, if you cup your hand, fingers towards the back of the seat and run it up under the back of the top about about half way to the rear window you should feel where it was attached. Go slow and watch out for any sharp edges.
That should do it. |
Thanks, I didn't go that far, will look again tomorrow!

Interesting, mine does not have these, I see them being useful

I think a bungee cord with the right hooks that don't scratch or tear plastic, fabric and weatherstripping can do the same thing. When I first saw the strap I thought it came out from between the top and the headliner. I learned what is was at Pedro's website under accessing the engine.
