Anybody use these to update their interior lights?
SportsCarLEDs.com - LEDs Replacements for the Porsche ® 996 Boxster 993 964 911 928 968 944
A guy I know referred me to this website to convert my 2000 S interior lighting to a white LED look. He had a good experience with them and I was wondering if anybody else on here tried them out? Also he only did the climate control update so I was wondering if anyone had pics of how the dash cluster looks. Also if there is a previously existing thread about this that I didn't find please refer me over there and call me lazy for not looking hard enough:cheers: Thanks in advance!! |
I used their blue LED cluster kit. I did the rest with bulk LEDs (not from them).

Every cheap American car since the invention of the incandescent bulb has had amber lighting... :p
It has absolutely nothing to do with the make or country of origin of the car. When LEDs came along with their various color options, that changed the game. It's an advancing technology thing ;) |

I am in a dilemma...
as much as I would love to have classic 911 green gauges (I think RUF put something similar into their 986/996 equivalents), I would miss my fav light color "amber" too much. ...can't wait for halloween...lol |
I did the doors and overhead lights with the white LEDs and it's considerably brighter. I could actually read a map with the overhead light now if I didn't have a GPS.

The Amber interiour lighting makes me thing of those old computers with the big monitor that took up half the desk. They were usually black and green on the screen, or black and amber. Either way, very very dated.
Love the blue look, that looks very slick. |
I did the LED conversion for dome and door courtesy lights. Much brighter and I like it. In fact, I also did my wife and my DD's. I can live with amber gauges and hvac in the Box, but I wish they were a little brighter.
I do think particlewave's blue conversion looks fantastic, however. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
The blue LEDs make me want japanese rice. Nothing modern about it.
This is modern: http://i.ndtvimg.com/i/2016-05/2017-...1464091218.jpg |
Well now you cant just throw that up there and say nothing more my friend.... Cmon now tell us a story! What is that and where did it come from? How much work did it take and how much does it cost? What are all the different features? I must say it does look nice!!!

the image file is called '2017-audi-a3-virtual-cockpit_827x510_41464091218.jpg', so that's a clue :)

Seriously?? Wow.... You might want to get out more and actually see cars in person. Many many many cars use blue lights in their interiours - because it looks great and yes, looks very modern. |
