battery change

Need to change battery on my 2003 S . So as to not loose radio code and other settings I intend to connect another battery to the car terminals , then swap out battery for the new one. Can anyone see a problem with this. thanks

I don't know about that, but if you have a battery tender that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket, you can do that, which is what I did on my 2003 S. The 2003S with the MOST (least) bus doesn't use a radio code though. If you disconnect power, the e-gas and windows have to relearn their positions though if I recall correctly. I've done it that way too and it wasn't a big deal. Also, I think the radio station pre-sets are not lost with power disconnected, but I'm not sure.

PS, best way to get the old battery out and put the new one in is to stand in the trunk!

I replaced my battery about a month ago. Took out the old and put in the new and lost nothing. Radio, eGas, everything was 100% okay. And I didn't have to stand in the frunk. It was a very easy swap out.

Based on you indicating that you have a 03S you likely have the CDR-23 radio and will not need a radio code. Codes are required on 02 or older cars that have a CDR-22 radio. If you do have a CDR-22 a lot of the time the code is hand written on the a white sticker under your frunk lid, which also happens to have your option codes. Good luck.
