The spring on the release mechanism is weakening; getting ready to fail. Replacement of the entire unit is necessary. It's an easy fix, and not that expensive.

You can get a used unit from Woody, or any other recycler, or you could just buy a new one.

Just sayin'...........

p.s. Better get one soon before you can't access the frunk at all.

It's a piston. They are cheap. Don't buy used ones.

Reading back. I guess my original question was a bit unclear.
When you pull the frunk release lever, it was not popping up enough to get a finger beneath it.

I found out today that the rubber stopper can be adjusted.
