my 03 wont turn over but powers up?

New battery 1 yr tested good under load, Have power to the starter, jumped starter it works. Checked all grounds tight. Turned key power on nothing. Checked all fuses ok checked clutch switch and even jumped it zip. I am guessing my old keys could be the problem? I locked and unlocked car set and re set alarm nothing? any ideas before I get it trailered to the Dealer?

Search for ignition switch problems. Causes all kinds of mischief. There is a lot going on inside of the switches and they are prone to fail.

Search in general and you'll find a lot of things this could point to: immobilizer, ignition switch, clutch interlock...start running down the list.

Did you check for DTC errors via OBD?

Other options: crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor.

I do not have a tester. I mainly work on building and restoring pre 80s cars mostly 60,s and 70's and do basics on all my post 80s cars. So I guess I am off to the dealer on a flat bed. Tkx

Today I tried on last time and the security system went off. Nothing worked to shut it off. In one of my remarks I thought I mentioned this happened the last time 2 weeks ago but I was able to shut it off. The key fobs never worked. I did manage to get the fob lights to work today but probably needs programming which I am told cant be done with the security system on. The horn blew until the system shut off until I get back in the car tomorrow to load it. Any last suggestions? I still believe the security system is the problem? Yes? Tkx Jim

I know you checked all of the fuses... but double check fuse E1 (Row E, Fuse 1).

Yes I did recheck fuse. I repaired key fob tried to reprogram no luck. Off to dealer on a flat bed with alarm going off this a.m. I will ask dealer if we can eliminate alarm. I believe that alarm is shorted or bad and the reason for the non starting issues. Jim

I'd take the immobilizer out from underneath the driver's seat and get a look at it. Disconnect the battery first. There's four bolts holding the seat down. Unbolt them and you can move the seat far enough forward that you can access the immobilizer. Open it up and see if there's any corrosion.

I took it to dealer 40 mi away this a.m. They called and said the security computer is out and I need 2 new keys total L+M 1450. Parts come in 4 days. I asked can they disconnect it all and run standard keys only they said no. I am betting yes but a dealer cant do that. Am I correct?
BTW where is that security computer located? Under the seat? Jim

Yes, under the seat - we end to call it the immobiliser.
Sounds like there is not much wrong with the unit, for $1450 they are charging you just for the 2 x keys and programming.....

More than likely your immobilizer got wet and got fried. You need to see how water got to it. FYI I sell the kit you'll need for $350(immobilizer, dme, key, and locks). Unfortunately I don't have one for a 2003/04 but eBay is your friend. Go grab your box back and buy one off of eBay for a lot less than the dealer is charging you.

everyone says wet nope! car has ben in a climate controlled garage same as previous owner. A new unit is coming in this week. It never worked, the keys had no guts in them for years. it just recently would go off by itself. I see rebuilds on line fro 400- 800 but I have the car sold and must make it right. Its a Porsche dealer and they are never cheap. I know the owner and GM it has a great rep for doing fine work and not ripping anyone off. Tkx for the suggestions. and for the record I never wash cars I only use dry wash and guard. Plus this car has not been in rain for many years.
