Newbie Q's. Wind whistle and trunk releases

Hi, I've had my car a few weeks now and have a couple of Q's.

I occasionally get a very noticeable wind whistle with the top down (100% top down driver if it's not raining hard) I can't identify it, is there a common issue or fix? It seems to be int he 45-60 mph range but I can't constantly reproduce it.

More importantly, suddenly this morning I can't get into either the front or rear truck. Both release leavers feel locked. When I first got the car I found that you needed the door almost all the way open to pull the levers. This was slightly annoying as a couple of times in tight parking lots I've had to pull out, then open the door all the way, pull whichever leaver then open the trunk. Now this morning both levers feel locked all the time even with the door all the way open. I tried ignition on and off, engine running or not. In park, in neutral. Parking brake on or off, hood up or down but no joy. Any ideas?

Thanks

I had my hood painted last year, and when the put it back on, it was installed to high. If I was on the highway with a car in fornt of me there would be no noise at all. But if I was alone on the road, it made a horrible whistle. It took me awhile to figure it out, because it seemed so random. Had it lowered, now everything is fine.

The front edge of the hood must be slightly lower that the bumper cover or you will get a wicked wind whistle at highway speed.

If my alarm system is not totally disengaged both trunk releases are completely locked. Try armign and disarming the alarm system.

Cool guys thanks. I've just had a new front bumper and fender fitted, the fit appears perfect, maybe too perfect, I'll see about dropping the front edge of the hood a little.

Dumb Q. How do you arm and disarm the alarm? All I have is a key. No fob, no button. The key has a large single button that operates a small flash light to find the key hole in the dark. No alarm I'm aware of.

Thanks.

I have the same key as my spare. It has no remote functionality. Only a button for a small light on it. Maybe try locking and unlocking the doors a few times?

Well it's working fine now!

No, only a single button on the key. Should there be two?

Newbie Q's. Wind whistle and trunk releases

Remote central locking was an optional extra in many markets. In other cases, the keys with the integrated remote fall apart and end up in the bin and people just make do with the valet key rather than shell out for a new key.
