Purge valve
Is it possible just to replace valve and not entire purge line 996-110-129-06. With something like Bosch 0280142308, Amazon.com: Bosch 0280142308 Purge Valve: Automotive

This is great question. If it does work you can save a lot of money.

Based on this post's pictures

It does work, confirmed.

Awesome news. I am bookmarking that link for future use. Thanks for confirming it works

What did you use to connect the new valve to the hard plastic line? |
Barbed union for 3/8 nylon fuel line, 5/16 rubber fuel line piece. Apparently you need to remove purge valve assembly before (I managed to do without intake unbolting). Next time the valve can be replaced much faster. I have clamps from both ends.

Thank you!
I haven't had a problem with the valve to date but this is certainly good info for future reference. |

Please note that you MUST use the appropriate "Metric sized Fuel Injected Rated" fuel hose, otherwise the SAE sized fuel hose will eventually fail and you will end with a high fire hazard I am not sure the diameter but on the Alfa Romeo & Fiat (Bosch FI) the fuel hose is a 7.5mm diameter |
3/8 and 10mm (9(9.5?)mm inner) nylon fuel line is almos the same. your choice. i simply used overcounter napa parts. 5/16 just snags better. this is not fuel, this is fuel vapor and very thin (50 psi fuel injection? c'mon, we are talking vacuum here). i doubt it has any hazzard or it will detoriorate rapidly. it is mostly fresh air. sure thing "metric" is better but with clamps it's no different imho

I am sorry, assumed you were using it for fuel like someone has done it with cathastrophic results..
