HELP - Are These Pads Wrong? So the pads I removed (Textar) had lugs that go into the pistons, the new ones do not. This flies in the face of 101 Projects, since there's no I could have slid them out without removing the caliper (good thing I am also doing the rotors or I would have beat on them - instead I removed the caliper instead of fighting it). I can't imagine the intent was to transfer the braking load to the pistons either.... TIA http://i1060.photobucket.com/albums/...605_094225.jpg |

hmm., I guess these are the shims and they're just stuck to the old pads? |

These are anti squeal shims, they are stuck to the back of the brake pad. You separate them (before taking them out) by very carefully sliding a knife between the thin metal of the shim and the back of the brake pad. No need to take the caliper off |
