Boxster Convertible top light stays on when down or up

Hello all,
As the title states, my Boxster Convertible top light stays on when the top is down down or up. The top seems to operate fine at the moment, although occasionally I'll have to hit the switch a second time.
Some information:
My ebrake is up and dash light for brake is on.
The windows drop when the latch is released
The top seems to be completely closed or open.
I am holding the switch for 5 seconds after it is up or down.
I measure the alignment of the arms and it is even.

So I have read and searched on this subject and it seems most people have different issues than mine that can often be explained by the above. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Someone has to have had this issue.
Any fuses to check for the dash light?

I know this sounds really simple...but...try holding the switch down for an extra couple seconds after motor completely stops and see it the light goes off.

This happened to me when I first got my car.
