Double beep-Doors unlock and lock immediately

Hello all,

About a week ago my 1999 boxster started to act weird while trying to unlock the car.
The symptoms are:
1. Once i press the fob button, the car sounds like it unlocks and locks immediately.
2. While it do3s the unlocking/locking it beeps twice
3. If i try to unlock a couple of times the fob becomes inactive meaning that it won't have any affect to the car anymore.
4. When i remove the fob battery and insert it again, the fob becomes active but the car acts the same.
5. While unlocking/locking, i sometimes get to open the passenger's door.
6. Btw, the can does not unlock with the key. It used to work in the past.
7. If i get in through the passenger's door, and close the door, i can unlock the driver's door by pressing the in car lock button and pulling the door's handle.

Any ideas on what could be the problem?

Thanks
Lambros

Make sure everything is shut all the way and latched. The console between the two seats is usually the culprit.

At least that's what makes mine beep sometimes.

I think the frunk not being latched and the gas cap can have a similar affect.

Sounds like you may have a bad door lock actuator.

Thanks,

Sometimes when the center console was not closed properly, indeed there was a double deep and the car wouldn't lock. Yet this time the car does not unlock.
Today I noticed that if I press the trunk button, the trunks pops right up with out any issue.

Is there any way to check which actuator might be faulty?

Thanks

I had a lot of double beep problems and bought a Durametric to pull the codes. From those codes I was able to track down the failure and fix it. So far, so good!
