Retrofit 2001 Boxster w/ Clear Headlights

Hi - I've been working through ebay listings and am confused about which ones/where to purchase clear headlights (non fried-egg) for my 2001 boxster. Some listings say only for 2003-2004, but others say works on all models?

Any suppliers/listings who you can recommend that work for sure? thx

The fried egg headlights are factory up to 2002.
The clears are a direct fit, but may online stores will list them only to fit 2003-2004, as they are factory fitment for those model years.

Any 986 or 996 headlight (halogen or litronic) will fit any '97-'04 986 Boxster (not 996.2, the bottom edge is distinctly different). The only difference is that the '03-'04 headlights are clear vs '97-'02 which had amber.

Litronic headlights were only ever clear, but don't readily retrofit to a Boxster that came with Halogen headlights.

Clear turn signal Halogen headlights (from later years) easily retrofit to earlier years, but this is relevant to earlier cars also with Halogen headlights

Factory fitted Litronics have an additional electrical connection related to activating the automatic leveling feature (which was not required for Halogens).
