Black accents
Hi,
was just thinking of how it would look like to put some black accents on the front intake area. What do you think? http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1461595121.jpg Regards Markus |
I think it looks really good.

No, not on the silver example....much prefer stock silver. To me, the black makes it look old - what's next - black door handles?
Whereas on the white car, looks awesome. Maybe it's colour dependent. |
I say nay!
But I do like exploring different creative options. |

Looks absolutely perfect, brilliant idea! Do it! |
Get some black gloss wrap vinyl (3m1080 or Avery SWF900)
and give it a try...easily removeable and looks as good as paint when installed properly.

I like the black accent!
I vote YES |
Try wrapping the accents with carbon fibre wrap.... that I must say looks sharp. PLus I hear it adds 10 hp to the car ! hahaha zoom zoom

I suggest doing it in plasti dip first to make sure its something you want to walk out to your car with every time you see it. Then if you like it and have no changes you can pull it off and paint it. or whatever you feel like doing.
I have a problem with commitment, don't judge me :P |
Absolutely not!
Looks like is has some goofy, gaping smile...or a cartoon character. Weird. Don't do it. |
Looks factory or gemballa at the most. Pretty clean and decent look. Kinda modernizes the car.

has anyone done this kind of experiment on a 986? I'm kicking around cleaning up the old faded inserts as well, and have been thinking black might be good...but on a dark blue car, may not look great....

I'd hit the fins first like tomonomics suggested. Then check it out. Give it a week or two, then decide if you want to go all the way. I really dig the blacking of the fins. I wish I had the know how and wasn't too lazy to tackle it for mine.
