Rust?
I have a very small amount of bubbles under my air intake I will take a picture when I can but is this normal I have seen a few people post about this on other sites. What should be done?

Comes down to how anal you are. If I was to do anything, I would probably sand down the areA and if there is rust, sand blast the rust, self etch primer, regular primer, paint and clear. Airbrush would be helpful. Paint store will tell you the steps and supplies. Only expensive tool is a compressor.
Try to leave as much original paint as possible. I am sure someone will chime in saying the car needs to be dismantled to stop the cancerous rust. I tend to try and be practical. Good luck. |
So far up in Canada my 01 S does not have any rust that I can see. I try and put it to bed before the roads ever get salted and wait until all the road salt is cleaned up before taking it out for a long time. Not sure if you drive your car during those times but that will certainly not help the rust issues. I would do the spot clean up as suggested below... start with that and see how bad the rust is. Usually if you see a penny size on outside, the actual rust is size of your palm!!
