That would be a great candidate for putting on a rotating carousel in your basement and BS'ing with your buddies while having a beer.
I have a friend who actually has a retired Indy car in his basement displayed like that, very cool.

I have rebuilt several cars that I bought from a friends salvage yard; Audi S4, Porsche 993, BMW 530I and a handful of others. They had a Carrera GT I could have got .. but the carbon fiber undercarriage was cracked. Talk about a lot of money ... & to this day I regret not buying it. And then there was a Ferrari they had....

Given the complexity of that 918 and it's multiple drive systems, what a mess for the uninitiated.

92 miles. What a shame. The bid is only $11K right now. Imagine by Wed it will be a tad higher. Did you check out the frame rail in the 1st pic? Might be a bit bent.

I wonder if all of the parts that are actually needed are available from Porsche? Let alone trying to straighten that poor thing. I can't imagine you could ever sell it for what it's going to take to put it back together.

That's a parts car not a rebuilder. It would take some deep pockets to buy all new parts from Porsche plus the labor to fix it. This would be WAY out of Gas Monkey's league (but that's not saying much for those a$$hats). Someone like LA Dismantler's will snag it up and at least triple their money on the salvageable parts that are left (engine, int, wheels, glass, doors, etc). Most 918 owners probably have more money than brains and will be breaking their cars if they drive them. Spares will be needed.
Price now at $50K.

Not sure what happened but it looks like the auction was stopped and re-started. Currently there are no bids and the key information has been updated as shown below. Sale is still scheduled to end on Wednesday. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens...

Normally if you sell new cars in the USA you must have replacement parts for 7 years after the sale. Not sure about small volume builds.
