Thanks.

My tops are going to be 3 versions, one is hardtop just like the targa posted initially but none targa, one like the above but with a huge moonroof and one targa, in all 3 cases the convertible top has to be removed complete along with the clam shell as they are not needed and they will not fit under as the top lines are much lower than the oem top (the reason to make me these hardtops is because I don't like the un-porsche look of the oem hump hardtop and the look of the convertble)

@stelan sounds great, I wish you goodluck.

That being said though I don't think you considered the 356 when stating that the 986 has an "un Porsche" look with the top up.

356

Funny you mention this, actually I have a company that makes 356 replicas, I have been making these for a long time and the top on 356 is a common complain among 356 owners, for many reasons, one is ugly, second is worthless as a water barrier, history with the 356 speedster top is that the car was of course a roadster with no top at all, some people wanted to drive it outside california (speedster was an american request of a stripped down simpler 356) where weather was less nice and that top was an aftertought. I have designed a hardtop for a 356 and a one off targa for another one of my clients, they look and perform way better than the rag and plastic curtains original to the car.

Awesome Targa....

SO, ...looks nice...
estimated cost to buy one>>>

what else do you need (sourced where?)
stock windows?

Thanks, this is what I'd envisioned doing, but I was stalled on the window line separation point, in my design process, you however have got that nailed!

congrats...

I'm so glad I saw this, I hope you're planning on making more then one..

I'm hoping for a completed prototype within a month, molds will be ready then as well, producing a few would be fast once molds are ready (there are about 6 pieces per mold to get all contour lines, glass opening, etc.)

thanks

I think it would be cool to have a targa top like the 993, 996 and 997, with a glass roof that slides down inside the rear window.
