Fuel cap & new key
Recently took my '98 to the dealer (Bellevue, WA) to have a new key cut and programmed ($15 & $85 respectively). Was surprised to find there was a campaign out for the fuel cap and it was replaced at no charge. Sort of figured that at this age they'd be done with the car. Got a free car wash too. Nice chaps there. Incidentally, Sunset had the key head for $130 & blade for $24. So, about $260 when all said and done.

Have any more info about the 'campaign out for the fuel cap'?

Not understanding the deal with the fuel cap..is this a new n improved version or something to save our planet from dangerous emissions..what's up with that?

They didn't provide an explanation other than it popped up as an open campaign. I'm looking at the paperwork and it says "pleas preform open campaign // A209." The only thing that's different is that the cap has a tether now. Maybe other 986's had that already, mine didn't.
