Wheel offset help
Bought a set of wheels for stock boxster. I am just wondering if they will fit without any issues. I had them on once just for looks but didn't drive it.
Fronts are 8J x 18H - ET57 with 235/40-18 Rears are 10J x 18H - ET 58 with 275/35-18 Will i have a problem? I presently have Fronts 7J x 17 - ET55 Rear 8.5J x 17 - ET 48 with a spacer. Not sure what size. Thanks in advance. Dan |
You will require spacers for the rear to clear struts and caliper. Then you may have problems with rubbing the fender unless you have negative camber and roll the fenders. The fronts have a really high offset but should fit with a small spacer without problems

Hope it works out with camber and rolling. |

I run OEM 18" with no spacers. Tires are 225/40 and 265/35. No spacers.

Your tires are a little wider and taller than the spec for 986 - I bought a set of Cayman wheels with big tires on them, fronts 245/40/18 and 285/35/18 and the fronts were too tall and didn't clear the strut perch. (Folks with something like pss9 would have been fine but not me with my stock struts) No amount of reasonable offset would have fixed it. At 235/40/18 I bet you are very close, but if you could successfully mount the tire/wheel you should be good :)
I don't know about the offsets though, that is like voodoo to me. |
