Back in the day did anyone utilize the 97/98 Boxster Defective Airbag Recall?

I know this topic has been discussed many times but did anyone actually have this recall performed on their 97 or 98 Boxster back in the day? Porsche to Recall Air Bag Deactivation Device for Child Seat System -- re> RENO, Nev., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- - When I was shopping for a Boxster I never came across any 97 or 98's with this modification - The dealer would install a MODIFIED AIR BAG DEACTIVATION KIT

I may have a 3rd Party install an on and off switch - I already got the request approved by NHTSA http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Shoppers/Air+Bags/ON-OFF+Switch+Requests

I was just wondering if I should ask Porsche if they still perform the modification. I am aware I will likely have to pay out of pocket since the car is more than 10 years old.

I think safety recalls are forever.

I contacted the dealer and the Air Bag recalls were Vin Number specific. They looked up my Vin Number in their Data Base, and the only recall associated to my 98 Boxster was the faulty coolant cap which was replaced however long ago.

I asked them to provide me a quote to program my car if I bring in an Airbag Deactivation Bar.

The 3rd Party quoted me $695 parts and labor for on/off switch.
