Forum problem - Anybody else?
I have an account and log in every time. I am used to seeing a banner ad but today I began seeing embedded ads within the threads I am looking at.
Is that something others are seeing? Am I nuts and they have been there the whole time?
Thanks, John

The problem is that adblockers are not an option for everyone.

My computing device is using more resources to load the ads than it is using to load the rest of the page.

Adblocker isn't working in Windows 10 and it eventually slows down the browser until it locks. They said uninstall and reinstall it, that still end the same way. I'm just living with them for now. It looks like they are raiding your history and reposting adds for the sites you just visited.

I'm running Windows 7 with Firefox browser. The ads came as a surprise to me too, and found them annoying. Not to mention a lag in loading.
Downloaded Adblocker and the ads are gone

Maybe time to found our own 986 support forum?
Because this is technically totally outdated, serves ads no one needs, has not a really good structure…

I know of at least 6-8 986forum regulars that use the Facebook group below, myself included.

Just joined on FB
This is still a great forum
Maybe some messages to the moderators will "fix" the excessive ads

Dwight: I linked to the Facebook page in my last post. I still check in here as its my home, but I must admit that I like the Facebook page and spend more time there (I think it's all the pictures)
I'm not alone...myself, Martin (Fintro), Fred, Brad Roberts, Pedro, "Kenny Boxster", just to name a few...40,000+ members now (and counting).

Agree. This forum is a good forum because of the people that are here.
But from a technical point it's completely outdated and i don't see admin or moderators maintaining it. Important infos / FAQs go under. Could be done so much better.
Why i'm saying that. I run a forum for another car (funded by donations) and know what can be done better, also know how much work it is to do it better.
Facebook (i'm in that group) isn't an alternative for me, just because of the time line structure.
So i could provide the infrastructure, but would need the people to fill it with live.
Regards, Markus
