If you have few spare dollars laying around.....

......you could put in a bid.

Three of Jerry Seinfeld's prized Porsches are headed for auction under Gooding's gavel - LA Times

Anyone else think it looks like scale models in the picture.

I think it is a combination of the lighting and the fact that they have been ridiculously over detailed. The 13 gallery pictures, further down in the article, are better photos.

Those are very nice cars. I wonder what/if there is much of a premium for being owned by Jerry? Or are Porsche car guys immune to that sort of celebrity?

You can bet that the auctioneer & auction house will be playing it up

I'm sure someone will want to say "I've got one of Jerry's cars." But, I think the majority of bidders will just want them for the cars themselves, which are fantastic.

What first comes to mind is why he is selling them?

Reasons for Selling your Porsche:
  1. Your Dead.
  2. You cant afford them anymore and/or are bankrupt.
  3. You want to Upgrade to a more expensive Porsche.
  4. You partner tells you to get rid of it and she'll get it in the Divorce if you don't obey.

What other reasons could there be?

So which is it Jerry?

I was talking to Jerry about this over the holiday break. He's never considered himself a "collector". He's just a guy who really likes cars. He said it's time to let go of a few, and let others enjoy them as he has.

For the money that they will likily go for he'll make a nice profit even by his financial standards. I'm sure the funds will likily go into other cars he'd like to play with. Pretty nice if you ask me.

Seriously? You've met or know Jerry Seinfeld?

If so, I'm now uber impressed with you friend!

I think he may have been taking the piss as that's the quote from the article :)

I thought so too.

That yellow RSR catches my eye. I remember the 1st IROC with those cars (think I was 15 or 16 at the time). With all their wild colors, they looked like Easter eggs running around Riverside.

That blue spyder is awful pretty.
