Great. It doesn't work. It accepts the code from the brand new garage door opener but doesn't open the door

You probably already did this, but just to be sure - does your opener have a programming button on the side of the motor unit? Mine did and it takes a slightly different procedure. You need to press the programming button on the side of the motor and then within about 30 seconds press and release the button you want to program 3 times. It took me several attempts and I was about to quit when it started working.

Yeah I did that. A few times. I have all 3 buttons programmed to the brand new craftsman remote. And I then went to the door and clicked learn, then slowly clicked the single button 3 times, and nothing. This type of homelink had no antenna. But was extracted from the visor of a 99 eclipse. So maybe it's too deep in the car.

However I have a new plan.
Homelink button panel soldered to the craftsman remote buttons. So I don't have to waste a 15 dollar batwing.

You need an amber (yellow) light homelink unit as red are not compatible w/ rolling security code openers as I recall.

This is one of the DIY projects that is on my list. I have acquired all the parts and just waiting for the time to get to it. Funny as I was reading thru the posts I thought, "Better make sure the Homelink works before you do it!"

I just got two brand new Master Lift Belt Drive awesome garage door openers in December installed with motion activated lights and temperature gauges and battery backups, etc. that are extremely quiet and guess what...they don't work with Homelink in my Toyota LC. I have researched and its a known issue with Homelink. They offer a repeater but if you lose power then you lose the repeater.

I am going to get a different opener for the garage where the Boxster is parked that I know in advance will work with my Homelink unit.

I was unable to find this information. I thought there was a way to program the rolling code but the method didn't work. However my hack of the 40 dollar craftsman remote with the homelink buttons worked.

I might just get a 4 switch batwing and make the 4th switch hole a fake with a USB port. And get one of those garage door switches.
