Spoiler Alert.....

Really?

The ending needs to be a Cliff Hanger?

Like some tawdry television show? Oh wait - Disney.....

The selected stopping point bothered me.

I enjoyed it only because it was the first movie I have ever seen in 3D. I was pretty impressed.
 I don't get out much.

Really lol? It was far better then I expected and I have great appreciation for the practical effects. It got a serious eye roll with the dick comparison between the old and new Death Star but that's that lol.

Check me here, but wasn't that the same story line from the first movie in 77? Even having said that it, I enjoyed it with the grand kids.

SPOILER ALERT LOOK AWAY NOW...

You are not mistaken. It was the most un-original thing they could have done.
Another dooms day lazer gun.... (just like in the recent Star Trek...also by JJ Abrams suprise!) and the only way to stop the lazer gun.... send in the X wing fighters, half of whom get blown up on the way, so they can once again blow it up at precisely the right time. Dejavu....
I think some college freshmen could have written this script in 10 minutes.

The whole Han Solo and Princess Leia could not have been CHEESIER if they covered it in Cheez Whiz twice. Am I watching Nickelodeon Saturday morning teen show? All that was missing was the troubled son throwing tantrums...Oh wait they had that too.
I sat there thinking, this is not happening again....
They are making a billion dollars riding off the genius of the first three movies all over again.

I really enjoyed the female Asian version of Yoda, almost unrecognizable with the Road warrior goggles.

You can see it's a Disney movie now... Cheesy love stories, cliches, you can guess the end of the movie by the half of it... Lucas come back !

That's the biggest compliant I've seen, the movie mirroring the original. But that's actually something Lucas wanted.

He says the films are like poetry and mirror each other. 1 2 and 3 actually mirror 456 as well but there was such backlash to episode 1 that some of that was changed.

However, 789 are expected to continue this poetic flow.

Jake, you're too young to remember Return of the Jedi reception. The ewoks jumped out of the bushes and took out the storm troopers with little sticks and stones. Oh kay..... I remember thinking as a kid. That was when we all first got wind of Lucas' bad judgment.
That should of been our first warning of what was to come when we got all hyped up for the 1999 prequel. Within the first five minutes of that disaster I remember sitting there thinking we were all being punked. This is like the fake movie they run before the real movie right? I would say those episodes flowed alright.....like a bad night of enchiladas in Tijuana, Mexico. So nobody should be listening to a word that Lucas is saying, he is a special effects guy... and definitely not a script guy. This is a movie that no amount of casting will save if the script blows this bad. And you can't have a good script if you are so GOD AWFUL LAZY. 30 years to write a compelling story and they come up with this steaming pile of poop.
But this is what happens in Hollywood when a movie with 9 digits gets made. Do they hire the most talented writers and authors?
They don't let those guys within a mile of the set. They'll actually tell the big name producer and director that the story they have now sucks.

Yeah, I'll save my money and torrent the next one, and I'll probably still feel ripped off. Really lame movie.

Put me in the group that wasn't impressed. Casting was my biggest critique.

Tom Hardy is a tremendous actor. Bronson was a fantastic performance, yet most have probably not seen this movie. And I agree Mad Max has some originality that we haven't seen from Hollywood probably since Dune, it reminded me of that movie.
