PS: there is an empty space on the showroom floor where the 2016 Spyder sat, so I'm going to take a stab and say the red Spyder was the trade-in for that one. |

If I had to choose, I'd take the Boxster Spyder over the 50th Annv 991. No, on second thought I'd take the 991 over the Spyder. Uh,... no I'd ... Damn, can't choose just one! |

This might help: On the website, the 911 is listed at $121,000 The Spyder at $56,000 Honestly that doesn't sound too bad on the 2012 Spyder. I'd pick it over a new Base for the same price. (Well, if it wasn't going to be a daily driver that is) |

You'll see more of the first edition Spyders come up for sale as the owners get their 2016s and that is a good price for that used one. Do you know the mileage and was it Certified?

You know something the new 981 Boxster Spyder makes that old Spyder look a little underwhelming for $56K.
As for the 911, I'm not a fan of Fuchs inspired SUV sized wheels. I think I would put that $120K towards a signal green 997 GT3. |

I really like the 981 Spyder, But I wouldn't kick that one out of bed.... even though I agree the A/C (and the PDK) is a bit of a copout when you consider what the mission of this model is. ;)
I'll probably get called out on this, but as fantastic as the 981 is, it looks a bit too.......... Nissan like for me to be entirely smitten with the looks compared to the 987. At least from afar. That said, I love the 918 steering wheel and the much simpler-to-operate top on the 981 Spyder compared to the 987 version. On either, the super low profile.... um, profile and flying buttresses really knock me out. It just feels like a more pure interpretation of what the Boxster should really be. |
Agreed. I real like the style of the top....I see a GT4 everyday but have yet to catch a 981 spyder in the flesh...I would guess that it is a stunner. Which do all prefer the the new or old Spyder?

I'll say this about the Spyder now sporting a 991 Carrera S engine.... this is a whole different level of Porsche.
This car is not quick for a Boxster, it's quick for any sports car. I just wish they offered it with PDK and the GT4 suspension/steering. Even without the latter, it was only a mere 7 seconds down from the GT4 at 17.5 mile N-ring. Which leads me to believe that the lighter Boxster GT4 would be the faster of the two if power and suspension were equal. |
