Bought mine in March 2015 with 27k and some change. I have 31.5k on in her now. Have done some refreshing: IMS/RMS, tires, radio, CV boots, filters. Next: AOS, water pump, top.

Worth every $....

How was the original IMS when it was replaced? Was it a single or dual row IMS baring?

I wanted a Boxster ever since they first launched......

....being a working slob, I never could afford one.

After a a career change and a big raise, and the magic of depreciation and the heartbreak of IMS, i found a 2004 Boxster S 50 Years of 550 Spyder Edition a few months ago with only 25,000 miles on her.

I bought her, shipped her to Jake Raby and Flat 6 Innovations and had him install a new IMS Solution, water pump, air/oil sep, plugs, serpentine belt and idler pulleys, rear main seal, and a low temp thermostat, all preventative. The car was fine, but I didn't want to take any chances.

And now I have my dream sports car and can drive the snot out of her for the next 50,000 miles without really worrying about anything except tires and brakes and oil changes.

The Boxster is the used car sports car deal of the millennium.

Funny you should ask. After reading about IMS horror stories, I was obsessed about replacement. Basically, I replaced a perfectly good, low risk double row IMS bearing with a brand new double row bearing😂😂😂. But I sleep nights now...
