Finallygottaporsche Registered User Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Houston, TX Posts: 81	the shift knob/boot from a 996 will fit your 99 boxster and it easy to change. the 997 will not, different design. keep in mind the 996 is a six speed. if you have a boxster S then youre good. if you have a 5 speed boxster then it will still fit, but the markings on the top of the knob will be for a 6speed.
