Cargo and Passenger Weight limit

I recently purchased a 2013 Boxster base. I have read numerous times online and in porsche manuals that the weight and cargo limit is around 780 pounds. But when i read the sticker on the inside drivers door it says that the weight of combined cargo and passengers should not exceed 485 pounds. That is quite a difference. Does anyone know the real answer?

I don't, but I know in my 986, which I imagine would be able to carry less, I've certainly gone over 500 on a handful of occasions. So no instant, catastrophic problems...but maybe some more suspension wear.

Hill starts are probably pretty hard on the clutch once you add that much...

Any thoughts from someone that's done more regularly?
