Unhappy Something Smells

Hey everyone. I recently purchased an 04 Boxster. I had a friend of mine drive it and while he was accelerating hard I picked up a scent of something funny. Almost want to say gas, but seems a bit different. 93k miles, engine feels great and no leaks that I see..any ideas??

Clutch can slip at high RPM if it's boarder line. That would smell bad.
