Touch-up of Stick Shift

My current stick shift knob has lost some paint. I was thinking of touching it up with some paint. Has anyone else done this? what type of paint would you recommend?

Interior is very prone to scratches and nicks. Pretty easy to paint. I used dupli-colour in mine and refinished a number or pieces. There are some good posts on here on how-to. Couple coats of primer, couple black coats and then a number of clear coats. I did my tip shift, turned out beauty.

Try something new, and install a shift knob from the 987! Direct fit...

I plan to repaint my interior plastic pieces too. How did you clean up the original rubbery, soft paint? Did you sand it down until smooth?
