VW recalls 500K cars ,fined $18B
|
Clean diesel, huh. I had a diesel Jetta wagon for a rental once and thought to myself that it can't be as clean as they claim when I can smell the exhaust. Driving behind other VW diesels in the Boxster I can always smell the exhaust and I try to get out from behind them ASAP. If this is really true VW deserves what's coming to them.

Typical. The U.S. isn't allowed to have efficient diesel cars.

Not true.
They have admitted culpability in defeating smog controls on 4-cyl diesel cars from 2009-. The amount of the penalty could be UP TO $37k per car or UP TO $18B. Criminal actions could also occur. And expect class action lawyers to feed as the recall changes the MPG and cheats the owners of the cars of the claimed MPG. |
Yeah, I am sure the good old US trucks are no threat to public health, but those few diesel cars are...lol...hypocratic lobby BS...

Bigger crime is the joke penalty to GM of $900M while admitting criminal wrong doing re: ignition switches which knowingly killed at least 150 people...
