DIY fix for lose underside plastic panels???
Hi
I posted recently about a rattle I've started hearing on my 2007 when I hit 65 mph. I had the mechanic take a look and he said some of the fasteners on the plastic shields under the car had come loose. Apparently they had taken a shot from a speed bump or something like that and the certain fasteners were damaged. Can you order replacement shields and are they really expensive ? Alternatively, has anyone had any luck securing them some other way? Like with Zip ties for example? |
You can buy an undercarriage panel attach kit or whatever they call it and it has all the plastic nuts and clips and washers.
The panel under my engine was 150. |
The under panels aren't too expensive. I bought these at Sonnen Parts for my 2000 Boxster: 2000 Porsche Boxster Parts - Porsche OEM Parts - Genuine Factory Parts Accessories - Wholesale

I have had one of my rear panels held on with a zip tie for 3 years. I just tied it around the aluminum brace.
