Rear Titanium Emblem "Boxster" For Trunk Lid
Hello again!!
I have purchased a Porsche Boxster Rear Titanium Emblem "Boxster" For Trunk Lid to replace the existing black one!! is there any specific way to unplug the existing? and how to glue the new one? with silicone? is there any special tool that is needed to remove ?? thanks |
Just use a nylon wire and slide in between the emblem and the trunk lid. The sign will come off. You then need to clean the old glue.

If purchased new, the badge has self-adhesive backing.
The old foam/adhesive is a ***** to remove. You've been warned. Also be very careful when installing the new badge; it's a bit fragile. |
I bought it new and the issue is how to remove the old glue :)

Emblem
Funny, I just removed my broken titanium emblem and replaced it with a black one.
I used dental floss to remove the emblem...came right off. For the glue and remnants of the foam backing on the old emblem I used "Goo gone". I tested it first to make sure it would not harm the paint. You could also try WD-40 and try to remove the glue, that was a trick I have used to remove stickers and the residue left behind on Mountain bikes. |

are you sure that WD 40 will not make a problem in the paint? I am attaching new photo of my car after washing!!! :)http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1440794347.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1440794382.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1440794414.jpg |
WD-40 works well and will not hurt the paint. ;)

RS Spyder emblem
Anyone have an idea where I could find or have made an RS60 Spyder emblem?
Thanks and keep drivin'. DW |
I just did this
I sawed off the old one with dental floss...took less than 5 minutes. The old adhesive was hard as a rock so I left it to the elements and a few car washes over a few weeks and sure enough it seemed to age quickly. I tied Goof Off (inside the trunk first) and it removed the paint instantly .....DANGER Will Robinson......DANGER
I would up buying this at ORiley's auto for $26 https://www.waresdirect.com/products/commercial-products/3m/general-purpose221227?trackURL=froogle&utm_source=google&u tm_source=cpc&scid=scplp15864106&sc_intid=405-051135-08984&gclid=Cj0KEQjwyJi_BRDLusby7_S7z-IBEiQAwCVvn3jyQPw81IUdzVAhZKbo9M4WpNqU-epeOwErCVVT_GYaAqZk8P8HAQ I out a terry cloth inside the gap between the trunk and the spoiler and soaked the glue....it absorbed it like crazy......left it for 10 minutes and re applied...the glue rolled off with my fingernail easy as pie...no paint harm at all. I did a good soapy wash to remove everything and then waxed the trunk. I could still see the faint outline where the paint had changed due to the sun, I was able to take the new badge and align it perfectly. Good luck with this Dwight |
I just replaced my emblem. Used a hair dryer to heat it up and peeled the old emblem off by hand. Then I continued using the hair dryer on the left over adhesive and rubbed it off with my finger/fingernail. I cleaned the surface with a little alcohol and put the new one on. It was much easier than I expected.

I have a Titanium on Artic Silver Metallic, at least I think there is one there? I plan to replace it with black. LexKy do you have any pics so I can see if I like it before I get one.
